Personal Statement

Dear Coaches,

As a student-athlete, I want to share my goals and aspirations for my upcoming years as a college student-athlete. Firstly, I have a strong desire for studying business and entrepreneurship In college. I want to understand the complexity of the corporate world and I want to explore the ways I can start a business of my own. I believe that by obtaining an education in business and entrepreneurship, I will gain the knowledge necessary to help create a sustainable life for myself regardless if my soccer career is good or bad. I also am interested in experiencing different cultures through travel. If given the opportunity, i would love to study abroad during my time at college (in a D3 atmosphere). I believe I have multiple qualities that distinguish me from other recruits. Firstly, I am a great team player and I always try to hold myself accountable. I will truly do what it takes to help my team become the best that it can, and I don’t believe others have that type of commitment. Additionally, I have an extremely good work ethic. Nothing has come easy for me without the presence of hard work. Going from my grades to soccer, I have put an immense amount of time and effort in order to get to the place where I am today. Once I reach college, my work ethic will only skyrocket in order for me to become the best student-athlete I can be. In terms of athletics, I am above the other recruits as well. I am extremely fast, and I am on a varsity team that often wins sectionals and conference. I am almost always the fastest person on the field and will continue to be as my body grows and develops. I also have very favorable physical attributes for not being fully developed (currently 6’0 160lbs at 16 years old). Lastly, I take a lot of pride in my academics. I have a 4.28 GPA, along with a 5 on my AP U.S History Exam, and a 4 on both my AP Comparative Government and politics and AP Chemistry exams. I understand the value education has on my life and will make it a big priority during my time in college. Ultimately, my collegiate goals revolve around studying business and entrepreneurship while also considering the possibility of studying abroad My strong team player mentality, work ethic, and athletic ability makes me a stand out recruit when compared to others. Thank you for reading my application.

From, Braxton Harris
