Soccer has been a deep interest in my life from a very young age. As a student-athlete, I find great appreciation for maintaining a balance between academics as well as athletics. What makes me unique to a team is that I believe in setting goals that can improve my skill as a player. However, I don't just set a goal and let that be the new standard of my performance. My personal notion is that I can never settle for a certain standard, I keep pushing as far as I can for the greater good of a team and my own personal level. Having that mindset has helped me grow and nurture my skills as an athlete and a student. From an athletic perspective, those values helped my high-school team and I achieve 3rd in the Illinois State 2A division despite being underdogs from the beginning. In addition, those values have helped me from a student perspective as I have pushed myself to receive awards such as honors with distinction, being a member of the National Honors Society, the French National Honors Society, as well as The National Society of High School Scholars. Having those achievements and personal principles have shaped me into the person I am today and I hope to further improve those characteristics in a collegiate soccer setting.
