My name is Jeremy Slivinski, but I go by JD. I am looking to continue my soccer experience in college. Soccer has been my passion since I was 4 years old. Academically I am interested in sports medicine, sports management and/or coaching. When I finish my degree I want to get involved involved in youth sports as a career. I already volunteer as an assistant coach for my local club which has really inspired me in this direction.
As a soccer player my number one attribute is my soccer IQ. My growth spurt happened later than many of the players in my age group. While I waited to grow I had to develop in other ways to remain competitive on the field. Understanding the game and seeing it unfold was the number one strength I developed at that time. I have now physically caught up and have the advantage of that with my soccer IQ. I have played many roles for my team. Currently I play midfield or attacking positions.
I am a good citizen. I have learned this from my parents, from my school as well as from being an Eagle Scout. I am a tough competitor on the field but I am not dirty. My dad has instilled in me that care and community are a big part of a man's character.
I am an athlete. I train both with my team and on my own throughout the week. I watch what I eat and try to take care of my body. I don't take risks that could lead to injury or poor health off the field.
I am a teammate. I am unselfish. I support my teammates on the field when things are going well and when things are going poorly. I will sacrifice for my teammates. I have no issue riding the bench when all I am needed for is support. I will start games and give it 100% when my number is called as well. I come to every training early and am always one of the last ones to leave.
