My name is Kobe Parker, and I am currently a freshman in college studying mechanical engineering, whilst on a NROTC scholarship. I am looking to transfer colleges to play soccer, and my field of study.
I have been playing local soccer here while in college, however I would like to level up and play at a more competitive level.
I play predominantly in the center back position, however I am a very versatile player that is capable of playing in the attacking midfield position also. As a soccer player, I strive to be the best on the field that I can be, training 5 days a week and playing competitive games on the weekends. I am excited, motivated and determined to play soccer in college while I earn my four year degree.
On the pitch, I am an extremely versatile player that can confidently play a variety of positions. I bring a humble attitude, am coachable and teachable, and I am able to listen to advice, constructive criticism, and implement it into my play. I have always been incredibly respectful of my coaches, and team mates and am able to maintain a calm attitude and lead others with my positive, hard working mentality.
In terms of academics, I have been able to maintain a 4.0 GPA throughout my high school career as I am a hard worker in school, and am always ready for a challenge. While in college I have been challenged with the rigor of a diverse range of subjects, maintaining my training, as well as managing my obligations to NROTC.
As a person, I have a diverse background that has shaped who I am today. Not only are my parents from different corners of the globe, but I have also had the experience of living in, and visiting multiple interesting countries. I have played at a club level since I was six years old, in Bahrain, Hawaii, and in this recent year, Japan. Being a coachable player has allowed me adapt easily to the different styles of coaching and play in each of these countries. This has helped me to not only learn a variety of skills and techniques, but also to push through and implement them in my own style of play.
Along with the great experiences I have been blessed with, comes multiple challenges. It is never easy moving from one country to the next, leaving behind friends, coaches, and communities. These moves have helped me build resilience and perseverance as I have had to adapt to a new life in order to be successful in both my academics and athletics. I know that these skills are going to serve me when I have to begin a college athlete life after I graduate.
I would be a valuable asset to any college, both academically and athletically, and I am excited to work hard for my teachers and coaches in order to take my college experience to the best it can be.
