I’m the type of player who puts in the extra work, whether it’s staying after practice or pushing through challenges on and off the field. I’m taking all honors classes, working a part-time job, and still giving my all to continually grow as a person and a player.
When most of my friends were 5 or 6 years old, they had lots of different hobbies – I juggled with tennis balls and worked with my UEFA A trainer every weekend. My intense passion for the game has always pushed me to work hard & focus on getting better.
A highlight of my childhood was being identified to train with the Chievo Verona Academy in Italy when I was 11 years old. During Covid when schools & soccer clubs shut down, I kept going. I did online ball mastery sessions twice daily to get my 1500+ daily touches and I asked my dad to put turf in the garage to practice during the winter when we got snow.
Then I begged my parents to let me travel alone to train in Perugia, Italy at age 13 to challenge myself in a new environment with 16–20-year-old international students. I didn’t speak Italian but I took classes 2 hours a day & my coaches didn’t speak English, so I had to adapt. I did my Canadian schooling online, living in boarding school without my family.
It was intimidating but I rose to the challenge. A.C. Perugia invited me to train with their academy team a year above me, something they told me they never do. I was only allowed to stay 90 days without a visa, but I came home for Christmas and then quickly found another opportunity to train at a club in England for 2 months once I turned 14. I learned a different style of play in both Italy & England, with intense training 3-4 hours, 6 days a week. I got feedback from both experiences which I took back to Canada to begin my OPDL club & high school soccer career.
I don’t go to parties & I prioritize soccer, school & family. I’ve been used to getting up at 7am on Saturdays & Sundays to do extra training with my UEFA coach since I was 6 years old. It’s what I do & I wouldn’t change it for anything. I am committed to working hard & love the game. I’m not just looking to play as an individual —I want to contribute to a team that values hard work and commitment. I’m focused on growing both as an athlete and as a person, and I’m ready to bring my dedication, discipline, and drive to the next level in college soccer. I want to be challenged, to be thrown into a new environment and I’m ready to rise to the occasion.
