2013 Highlights
Indoor practice s...My name is Dawson Colluney. I have played select level soccer since I was 10 years old, being named to the regional select Kelowna United U-12 team as a goalkeeper. Since then, I have spent several years in the Kelowna United Select program before being signed by a Men's team when I returned from The Manchester United Residency program in England in August of 2012. At the time I was 15 years old and the youngest player to be signed by a men's team in Kelowna. I am currently 17 years old and the starting goalie for The Wave F.C., one of the top men's teams in the area. I have had two sessions at the Manchester United Academy having been recommended to the program when I was twelve by my goalie coach at the time, Mr. Jimmy Rimmer. Jimmy is a former England International Goalkeeper and won the European Cup with Aston Villa. He also spent several years as the Chinese National Team Coach. Jimmy was my coach and mentor for several years before he returned to England.
I am a Sr. at Mt. Boucherie Secondary School in West Kelowna British Columbia Canada. I have been the starting goalie for the Varsity AAA Sr Boys Team for the last three seasons. Last season we were BC Interior League Champions and were ranked #3 in the Province. This season we were undefeated in all League and cup play and I only allowed two goals in all seven games. (one from a penalty)
I am extremely loud and vocal and have my defense constantly organized. I have great hands and instinctively know where my posts are. Every team I have played with have confidence in me and are not afraid to use me when needed. I have excellent distribution skills and can find players on the field with great accuracy whether from a kick or throw.
I have won numerous awards and received many accolades for my goaltending over the years from MVP awards at Select Tournaments to winning an International goal keeping competition for U-15 and U-16 goalies while in the Manchester United program in the summer of 2012 against goalies from over a dozen other countries.
My goals and dreams would be to play professional soccer. If that does not come to pass, I would like to be able to utilize my soccer playing ability to gain a valuable education. I am currently interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement or corrections.
