Hunter Closs '22 Recruiting Profile

Hi Coach,

The highlight of my soccer career so far has been becoming the 2018 Ontario Player Development League Champions and also winning the the league scoring championship that same year, with 26 goals which set a new league record for most goals ever scored by a boy in a single season. As great a season as 2018 was I believe I grew most as an athlete and person when I was released from the Ontario Provincial Program following this tremendous year.   This has only motivated me even more to work harder, train smarter and refine certain elements within my game to bring me to another level.

I take my education very seriously which is why it's important to me to find a school that offers a top notch engineering program.  I currently have a 4.0 GPA and work very hard to maintain this and will continue to do so throughout high school and into university.  While education is of utmost importance to me it's also very important to find a school that has a very competitive Division 1 Men's Soccer Program to fulfill both my academic and athletic goals as a student athlete.  

I believe what makes me a great fit with your program is the total makeup of me as a person, it really is who I am and It's how I carry myself on the pitch, in the classroom/campus and in the community.  I have always been a natural leader "every" season whether I was team captain or not, every game whether I was having a good game or not.  The things that have allowed me to be a good leader throughout my soccer career to date and in life are;  my confidence, my ability to help motivate others around me, my commitment & passion, my communication skills,  my ability to make good decisions and my accountability.  I care very deeply about my team, my teammates, my school/club, my coach & staff, my community, and my family.   I believe I have the competitive drive and ability to help any team I'm a part of succeed!  Coach, I just need the opportunity to prove the above are not just words.   I genuinely feel you "are not" taking a chance on me, I will be there every single day to work hard, be a good role model, be a good teammate, good student athlete and member of the community.  I will always bring my very best to help the team succeed and hopefully win titles together!
