Joshua Nicholson '26 Recruiting Profile

Hello Coaches,

I’m Joshua Nicholson, a Class of 2026 soccer player from Brampton, Ontario. At 6’1" and 194 lbs, I play as a central defensive midfielder (CDM) for the Woodbridge 08 OPDL team. My passion for soccer has driven me to achieve notable team and individual accomplishments. My team achievements include winning the Black Rock FC CAN-AM Super Cup Showcase and the FTF Fall Showdown Showcase in November 2024, and becoming league champions with OPDL U16B in October 2024. Individually, I have been recognized in the Sigma FC Showcase Best XI, Future Stars Combine All Star, and Black Rock FC CAN-AM Super Cup Showcase Best XI U17 in 2024. I was also named POTM and TOTT at the FTF Fall Showdown Showcase, and earned a call-up to the Woodbridge Strikers League 1 Men’s (U20) Reserve team. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to be part of the 60 Man roster for the Canadian National team at U-15, trial with the Toronto FC Academy, and participate in the Jamaica U17 National Team Camp.

I have also captained the U15 and U16 Ontario Provincial Xcel teams, showcasing leadership and tactical skills. Academically, I maintain a GPA of 3.2 at St. Marguerite d’Youville Secondary School. Outside of soccer, I enjoy playing volleyball and spending time with my family. These hobbies keep me balanced and motivated.

My collegiate goals include pursuing a degree while playing soccer at a competitive level. What sets me apart from other recruits is my combination of leadership, work ethic, and tactical understanding of the game, as well as my academic dedication and ability to stay composed under pressure. I am excited about future opportunities in professional soccer, national representation, or collegiate play.
