Afonso Gonçalves '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Afonso Ferreira Gonçalves and I was born in Lisbon (Portugal), and I've been living in Qatar for the past three years. Ever since I was a child I've had a growing passion for football (soccer) and for exercise. I am currently playing for Evolution Soccer Academy in Doha, Qatar as a left back, and occasionally center back. I'm not only looking for universities that will allow me to play soccer at the best level, with that I am also looking for Universities that will push me to show my highest academic potential.

With football (soccer) playing such an important role in my life, it's very important to me to keep playing at a very competitive level, as well as improving on a daily basis. I truly believe in leading by example on and off the pitch, and that our behaviors and attitudes also affect us as players. I'm dedicated and focused on my goals, however in my opinion a good laugh once in a while makes the world a better place.
