Konstantinos Dellas-Grivas '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Konstantinos Dellas-Grivas, I am 17 years old and I am the goalkeeper of the U17 & U19 team of PANATHINAIKOS FC https://www.pao.gr/en/player/55562/ , one of the most highly-esteemed soccer clubs in Greece and Europe and definitely one with a rich history and significant background in its youth academies.

From the very first moment I walked onto a soccer pitch at the age of 5 I decided to become a goalkeeper and have been achieving my goals ever since aiming for the very top one step at a time. I am 6’ 5’’ and according to all my coaches possess the ideal body for a goalkeeper, with an extra long arm span, broad shoulders and increased leg height. Furthermore, according to their feedback I strike a unique balance between my technique, my leadership, athletic and mental skills. However, I have so many aspects of my game to improve and I work on a daily basis in that direction.

I was born and live in Athens, Greece. My father is Australian and my mother Greek and I am an 11th grade High School student at the German School of Athens http://www.dsathen.gr/de/ . From a very early age I have been brought up as a global citizen, having travelled abroad to tens of countries in all but a few continents of the planet, speaking English, German and Greek as my native languages for reasons including but not limited to my family and school.

My busy daily schedule includes attending school till midday, two-and-a-half-hour intense practice with my club and personal time of studying and homework. I have always managed to effectively handle the challenges I face from both my school and soccer, deriving pleasure from both. Last year I graduated from school with a 4.0 GPA, top of my class, and completed my soccer season with impressive statistics and significant achievements.

This season I am the goalkeeper of the U17 team which will participate in the Greek national championship. At the beginning of the season I was requested to join the U19 squad of Panathinaikos FC, which will participate in this year’s UEFA U19 Youth League competition. My goal is to play soccer professionally in an environment that will accommodate my ambitions and I believe that through college soccer I will be able to achieve it.

My academic goal is to major either in Aerospace Engineering or in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Aerospace Engineering. 

I am seeking a college which will fulfil my desire for a balanced athletic/academic life and help me further develop as a well-rounded person, athlete and student.
