2021 Highlights
2019 HighlightsI grew up in Kenya, East Africa where soccer is a way of life. In fact, I would say it is the great uniter-in a diverse setting like Nairobi, it is an ice-breaker, friendship solidifier, and a collective stress-reliever. Through soccer I have met different players of different races, religions, and socio-economic backgrounds, and thus developed an appreciation of diversity, an affinity for languages (I speak four: English, Swahili, Gujrati, and am currently learning Spanish), and an ability to adjust and adapt to new teammates, coaches, and playing environments-all life skills which help me on and off the field.
A particular highlight for me was when I got the opportunity to represent Kenya in the DANA CUP in Denmark. It was a amateur World Cup atmosphere that allowed us to socialize, bond, and play with different players from around the world, all in hopes of bringing victory to ur home country. It was exhilarating. Although we didn't win the cup, victory did come in the form of character-building, good sportsmanship, and humility.
These opportunities have very much shaped the person and player I am today. I am continually bettering myself at positive communication with wide range of people, making me coachable, empathetic, and a team player.
I would be honored to play at any division, and my preference would be for schools in the Midwest, particularly in Illinois.
