Alvaro Jose Gutierrez Zaldivar '26 Recruiting Profile

My name is Alvaro Gutierrez Zaldivar. I am a Senior at Los Molinos High School in Buenos Aires, Argentina expecting to graduate in December of 2025. This means that I am looking at 2026 as my entry year for college. 

I currently play soccer at Club Atletico Excursionistas, a sports club mostly known for its soccer team which currently plays in Primera Nacional B, the regionalized second division of the Argentine League System (AFA). I play as the goalie for the 6th Division Team of the club and have recenltly been booked to be part of the AFA system (a major accomplishment). I train 4 days-a-week after school and play games on weekends. It is a very demanding schedule but I am able to manage it successfully while maintaining a solid academic performance. As a goalie, I am fearless and very much inspired by "Dibu" Martinez from Argentina's national team. 

My objective is to study college in the US while also playing competitive soccer at the highest possible level achievable. I have attended a number of Soccer Camps in the US (Northwestern University and Denver University) to familiarize myself with US universities, their soccer teams and coaches. I was very pleased with my performance when compared with other excellent athletes present, and it only reinforced my belief and desire to come play college soccer while at the same time obtaining a world class education. I look forward to meet many of you coaches in person or remotely to communicate how I could be of value to your team!
