Beau Baines '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Beau Baines, I am a 17 year old international student from the UK. I have grown up playing soccer from the age of 4 at my local semi-professional club, progressing through the different age groups and I am now playing with the men's first team, who compete in the United Counties League in England. I have also been chosen to represent the Peterborough United Elite Squad who compete in the Junior Premier League. During this time I played a year up and earnt my way into the squad as a regular starter, including reaching the National Final. Currently, I also play in a non-league U18s midweek league, compete in the FA youth Cup and we are 2 time County (State) Champions. 

I really enjoy pushing myself to play at the highest level I can, often joining a squad as a younger player, where I am able to build friendships and bonds with my teammates and earn my place in the starting 11, even at adults level. The experience I have gained from playing soccer from a young age and at multiple age groups including men's has taught me the importance of being able to integrate with my teammates quickly and as a more established player, helping younger players also integrate with the squad. Soccer has taught me how to conduct myself from the low's of losing national finals, through to the highs of winning leagues and cups, including County (State) Championships.

Alongside my passion for soccer, I also place equal importance on my academic studies as I understand the importance of obtaining good grades - having a 3.6 GPA and studying 3 A-Levels. I like to positively participate in classes and I have been chosen to be an student ambassador for my school where I act as a personal guide for students and their families around the school campus. I also Volunteer to help coach 4-8 year olds for my local club during their season and off-season Summer Camps. 

I am extremely excited at the opportunity to combine playing soccer in a competitive soccer programme and achieve strong academic grades in my chosen degree that the US College system offers.
