I am a Junior in MEFIS International School in Istanbul Turkey. I moved to Turkey in the summer of 2013. I have been playing soccer since age 5. I lived in Greenwich, CT all my life until my move to Turkey this summer. I played for our town's travel team Greenwich United throughout my middle school ages. Over the summer of 2013, I joined one of the "Football Schools" of a well known Turkish team Galatasaray. I have shown great improvement over that summer and was selected to the U-16 Pilot team of Galatasaray as a starting right back. (Players born in 1999-2000). This is equivalent of a very high level Premier team in the US. It is a feeder club to Galatasaray's prestigious Academy.
As of April 2015, I have been selected to play for U-19 Team as one of 3 players from the U-16 Team. The U-19 league will continue until the end of June. I recently joined the U-17 Team whose regular season started in September. My experience at the U-19 level will definitely be useful as I am now facing 17, 18 and 19 year olds as a 16 year old player.
I am a U.S. Citizen and will eventually return to the U.S. for my college studies. I want to continue to stay in touch with the soccer programs in the U.S. in particular summer camps where I can be seen by US College coaches. I have made great strides since joining Galatasaray's Pilot team where the level of soccer is high and competition is fierce. In the summer of 2014 I spent 2 weeks at Real Madrid's soccer camp for licensed football players from all over the world. The camp has added a lot to my skills and ability to coop with a different environment which I think will help me in the future. This summer I attended my first college ID camp at Syracuse University (Jul 5-8, 2015).
My favorite position is either right or left back where I can use my speed but I am also utilized in the center back position when needed. What makes me unique is the ability to play in all three positions and give the coaches the flexibility of using me where they have a need.
I know if I can continue to play at this level I can make a very good college side.
I am attending MEF International School (www.mefschools.com) in Istanbul where I am enrolled in the IB program, equivalent or higher than our AP & Honor programs in US High Schools. I have a B average.
I think with the combination of my soccer skills and highly competitive high school education, I will make a very good prospect for any college coach in the U.S. and would like to have the chance to play on a prestigious college team and get a first class education as well.
My goal is to prepare myself over the next 2 years to get to the next level and during this time attend the right camps where I can be seen by college recruiters.
