Giovanni Caselli '25 Recruiting Profile

I am currently 6’3’’, 180lbs striker whose main characteristics are speed, physicality, dribbling, and scoring with both feet. I can also play on either wing, and at centre-back. Born and raised in London, UK, I have been living in Italy since the summer of 2022.

My biggest achievement is to have been invited to join US Lecce’s academy, whose first team is comfortably placed in mid-table in Serie A. It has been incredible to train with and play against the absolute best players in my age group in Italy this year. Prior to moving to Italy, I played for various London non-academy clubs and for my school. Last year, I finished the season with over sixty goals for my club in various competitions, and 27 goals for my school in 14 fixtures. I can also provide assists and create various goal opportunities for myself and other players. I would love to play sports in college as it would allow me to pursue all of my passions on and off the field.

I am very flexible as to which kind of college I would be happy to attend, as long as it is academically challenging. My most likely choice of major at the moment is Economics: both my parents have PhDs in Economics from Harvard, where they met, and I find it very interesting when they discuss the subject. I would like to go as far as I can with soccer and my aspiration is to have a big impact on my team whilst also doing well inside the classroom.
