Connor James Huxham '24 Recruiting Profile

I am young motivated individual looking to study and play soccer in USA. It has been a dream for me ever since i took part in the Dallas Cup of 2023. Seeing all the amazing colleges and facilities was just an unreal experience for me. My goals would be to get into a college and play soccer as I have a great appreciation and love for the sport. I feel I am a good candidate for your team as I have great determination and always give 100% in everything i do, so i can guarantee I will always give my best. I am good working in a team so getting along with my teammates and coaches will not be an issue. At the moment I am only 18 but i play for the senior second team in my club, playing with teammates that are much older than myself, which means I am playing at a higher level already as well as i am vice captain for the team.  What makes me different from other recruits in that I am a tough player both on and off the pitch, meaning I am strong physically and mentally. I am able to receive good constructive criticism and not take it in a bad manner. I am a helping person and will always have my teammates back no matter what. I am an athletic person and have played many other sports namely, rugby, tennis, karate and cricket. Karate has given me good discipline and diligence which, i can say, has helped me mentally in playing soccer. I have also partook in the Karate International championships in Vancouver, Canada in 2017 placing 5th in the world for my weight category. For the past 3 years I have been the first team cricket captain for my school in saying that soccer is still my number one sport. I go for regular runs and i am in the gym a lot during the week to stay fit and keep my strength up. My academics are good as i have placed 25 in the first term for grade 12 in my school whilst focusing on my soccer and training 5 days a week.
