Nelson Millfors '24 Recruiting Profile

Hi, Since my father participated in a NCAA program and studied in the US, I have always thought of pursuing this as well.  He has so many great experiences from his time competing at college level that has shaped him as a person.
I will likely choose the field of business or management but who knows what fields will capture my interest once I start exploring the Campus and its curriculum.
I have played competitive Soccer since the age of 5.  I have played in several large cups including Dalecarlia, Borlänge (multiple times) as well as  Gothia Cup, Gothenburg twice. I will play Gothia again in the summer of 2023.

In younger years I also played Hockey in the winter time but from about 11 years of age, Soccer became a full year commitment. We play outside most of the season but switch to Futsal during the most snowy months.

According to my coaches I have a very good soccermind. I see the game and often find myself reading the game well. I have always had a potent passing game with a solid one to two touch release. I have a very good touch and ball strike which lends me responsibility for corners (Mostly right foot side) and freekicks ( in striking zone) Sometimes I play striker because of my sense of positioning. I also use both feet to finish or in the passing game which is an asset. For the past two seasons I have also been given the responsibility for penalty kicks.
I split most of my midfield responsibilities between Offensive Midfielder or Defensive Midfielder. It depends on our opponents and the gameplan. In the offens role I tend to work well with Strikers that are good vertically(speed)  where I serve with passes in lanes or through the air. In a defensive role, in addition to the defensive work, I open up offense with passes through opponents areas.
