Personal Statement
Dear Coach,
I'm Alexandre Bertholon, a dedicated athlete born in 2007. My desire to play football at the college level is immense. I currently play as a winger/striker for my club but central midfielder for my varsity team, for which I am the captain. I am a very versatile player and can play multiple positions. As a Center Midfield in my varsity team, I play a crucial role in both the attack and defense as I am able to support all my players. Whereas when I play Winger for my club I have more freedom in the final third to express my creativity and use my confidence to beat the defender and go through on goal.
As a player, listening to my coach's instructions and improving my game every time I step on the field is important to me. The strengths I possess as a player are my speed, technical ability, passing accuracy short and long balls, first touch, and shooting ability. Furthermore, my coach shared with me that I have a highly developed vision of the game with a very good awareness of my teammates and opposition's positions, and see spaces for good passing, crossing and through-balls, also considering that I have been playing in elite football academy and club for 10 years.
A player I look up to is Antoine Griezmann, as he is a complete and versatile player, quick in decision-making and is able to support both the attack and defense exceptionally. Most importantly he is able to express his creativity on the field and has an incredible mentality on and off the pitch being a great role model for all players.
Outside of football I would love to pursue a Bachelor's degree in sports management and later in the future be able to still work around the athletics community as a athletic director, a coach etc. As a student-athlete, I comprehend the importance of academics and will prioritize my studies in order to keep my grades up.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement.
