Hey Coaches,
My name is Andrew Clouse. I am in the graduating class of 2025 and my primary position is center back. I am a very hard working student athlete who knows the game of soccer extremely well. Although I enjoy soccer, academics are also important to me. I have maintained an above 4.0 gpa throughout high school taking honor and AP classes along the way. I am currently in four AP classes including Chemistry, Language, US History, and Pre-Calculus leaving my weighted gpa at 4.143 this year.
In my soccer career at the high school level I have played an important role and lettered every year while in high school. I play at Andover Central High school under Coach Steven Huskey. I competed in 14/16 varsity games as a freshman and started at center back on varsity as a sophomore with the team record being 13-2-1. We won league my sophomore season. My junior season I started at center back with a record of 13-3. This season we were undefeated league champs and only allowed 3 goals in those six league games. As a center back that only went up for a few corners, I was able to score 2 goals, one being a half volley from just outside the box and the other a redirect from the corner into the far corner away from the keeper.
Outside of sports and academics, I am also engaged in several activities in the community. I am very active in my church, Young Life and served as a leader for Wyldlife. Last year, I was nominated and accepted into the National Honors Society which participates in numerous local volunteer activities. Recently, I became a founding member of a diversity program focusing on helping the community of Wichita, Kansas, called Justice Together. Finally, I was chosen by school administrators to join AAAC council, a student group founded to support all school activities.
Thank you for taking the time to read my statement and consider me for your team. I am excited to pursue my soccer career at the collegiate level while receiving a quality education.
