Personal Statement
My goal is to play soccer professionally in Europe and gain a college education while in my pursuit. Given the uncertainty surrounding COVID-19 and periodic suspension(s) of High School Soccer in my district this year, I tried out for, and was accepted on the Oklahoma Energy Boys 03 ECNL team. This gave me superior coaching and training at a level that will better prepare me for college. I am an extremely hard-working athlete and academic student. I have always been known to be the hardest worker during practices, games, and weight training. I practice four to six hours a day. I pride myself in field awareness and lead by example. I take health seriously and am constantly working on injury prevention and nutrition. I have always maintained very good grades and achieved my Eagle Scout rank this fall. I am also an applicant for the National Honor Society. Throughout high school, I have received compliments from my school instructors regarding my friendliness, attitude, and effort.
Over the first year at college, I plan to immerse myself into pursuing my goal playing soccer as I refine my academic interests. I plan to begin study focusing on the medical, nutrition, and sports related rehabilitation fields. I have taken life’s responsibilities seriously and have successfully overcome momentous hardships, always coming back better. I am proud of my perseverance.
I enjoy spending time working with other players in the greater Kansas City area, including college and professionals of all nationalities in 5 a side pickup games at a downtown indoor soccer field “The Soccer Lot”. I have enjoyed meeting people from all ages around the world and making friends there. I’ve also travelled to Spain and England where I was offered positions on two separate Professional Division II team academies. I am serious about my future soccer career and obtaining education that will enable me to carry on afterwards. I am ready for the next level!
Currently I am taking a gap year for soccer after having a torn meniscus that I had to get operated on. I am rehabbing it slowly so I can get back into the game stronger than before. Looking for what I will do next school year for the 2022/23 season
