Hello Soccer Coaching Staff,
I'm Guilhermo Ribeiro Felis, a 16-year-old from Brazil, currently a sophomore at Hebron Academy (class of '27) in Maine. I proudly play as a starting defender, wearing jersey number 7, for the varsity soccer team.
As a left-footed player, I primarily play as a left defender but am also versatile enough to play as a left midfielder. Soccer has been an integral part of my life for as long as I can remember. Previously, I led the midfield for Boca Juniors Barão Geraldo for three years. While in Brazil, I also represented my school Colégio Rio Branco Campinas in futsal, competing in the regional inter-school league for two years. Additionally, I have been actively involved with Next Academy Campinas in soccer, where I have developed my skills and tactics under the guidance of experienced coaches.
Academically, I have a strong interest in the Exact Sciences. I enjoy exploring subjects like mathematics and physics, which challenge my analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. This passion for the sciences complements my strategic approach on the soccer field and enhances my ability to think critically in dynamic situations.
I also had the opportunity to enhance my soccer skills through an Exchange Program in England, training with coaches from the Tottenham Hotspur Youth Academy. This experience improved my technical and tactical abilities and provided me with valuable exposure to different playing styles and soccer cultures. Being in such a competitive and diverse environment reinforced my adaptability, teamwork, and English communication skills, which I consider essential for success in a soccer team in the United States.
I am dedicated to advancing my athletic career in U.S. collegiate sports, aiming to compete in NCAA Division I Men’s Soccer as a crucial step towards my goals. I recognize the commitment and excellence needed for this level and am ready to meet these standards.
Besides soccer, I am a green belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) from Gracie Barra, with competition medals including gold, and I ranked 4th in the 2023 CompNet Global Jiu-Jitsu League. BJJ has enhanced my discipline and strategy, which are valuable in soccer. At 5'7" and 140 lbs, I'm a passionate and dynamic player committed to improvement.
