For several years now, I have wondered where sport would fit into my future. Since 2020, I have been dedicating my time and efforts into becoming a better overall athlete and academic student. I participate in multiple sports however my main focus is soccer. My love for the sport of soccer has become an important piece of who I am, where I want to go in life, and what I want to do in the future. I have played at the club & high school level, coached youth soccer, and referee youth matches. I continue to be a student of the game and look forward to seeing where this great sport can take me in the future.
My goals are simple. I want to play soccer at the highest level possible. I want to grow as an athlete and find out just how good I can be as an athlete. In past years, I have participated in community hockey, school team based badminton, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track & field.
At the high school level, I will work with our Volleyball, Track & Field and Soccer teams as to develop my overall skills. Outside of school, I will continue personal strength, speed & agility training as well as with our district Soccer & Futsal programs. I would like to earn a spot with our provincial residency program with the Vancouver Whitecaps (Major League Soccer) program based in Winnipeg, MB. I have worked with the Winnipeg Valour (Canadian Professional Soccer League (CPL) for 3 years in their skill builder programs.
As listed in my profile, I have started attending a variety of camps and hope to do more of this to receive further exposure with other athletes, coaches, and experiences to improve my skills and have been Identified by Villareal FC (Spain) as a possible candidate for a residency program in the future.
As an academic, I have moved from not seeing the importance of school as an elementary student, to viewing it as an avenue to further help me achieve my athletic goals but also in a future in either sports medicine, ____________, or ________________. As a grade 8 student, I had an approximate 85+% average in all of my core and elective courses. When I entered High School, I wasnt sure what to expect but was please with my academic performance ending with a 89.6% average in Grade 9 & 10 classes.
For grade 10, I will be aiming for similar or higher grades in the Grade 10 & 11 classes that I have enrolled in. I have selected courses that will help me be prepared for future years if I am needing to move out of our province and attend a higher level of training in preparation for later opportunities.
As a person, I will continue to be the best person I can be as well. I am a strong team member and enjoy being part of the group, but I will also be a leader within that group. In the past couple years, I have started volunteering more within my Jr. & Sr. High and community. I also referee & coach youth soccer in Brandon. As soccer builds in popularity in Canada, I want to very much be part of that excitement and growth on the world stage.
