Personal Statement
My name is Jeremy Van Grack. I am a 16 year old senior at Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, Maryland. I have been playing team soccer continuously since I was 5 years old. Where I live, soccer is incredibly popular, largely because the area is extremely diverse with players and coaches from various countries on every continent.
My school is in the 4A Conference, which is the most competitive conference in our area. I played for Einstein’s Varsity team in my Junior year and again during my Senior year. My current club team is the Potomac Hotspur Blue 00 ranked 9th in Maryland.
As a goalkeeper, I am very agile and aggressive. I am verbal on the field, communicating with my defenders and the midfielders. I help my team play the width of the field and switch the ball when possible; I also help my defenders spot and mark unmarked players. I stay positive on and off the field, helping to keep my teammates motivated with humor and a winning attitude .
I take my academics as seriously as I take my soccer play. I have a 3.5 overall GPA and take many honors and AP classes; I have been on the Honor Roll every quarter of high school. I expect to receive the Certificate of Academic Excellence when I graduate. I am currently interested in pursuing Computer Science as my college major and to work in cyber-security following college. I would also love to continue in soccer -- as a player, coach, business manager -- after college. Therefore, I am looking for a selective school to optimize my potential as a scholar-athlete.
Thank you for viewing my profile. I hope to get to meet you and learn about your school and your team in the interest of keeping your goals clear!
