My name is Lucca Simamora, and I am a junior at Our Lady of Good Counsel High School, located in Olney, Maryland.
I have been playing soccer for more than a decade, since I was four years old. I started off at the
low club level, building my way up to play in a very prestigious American league. I am an
extremely dedicated, disciplined, and strategic scholar and athlete. I have excellent leadership
skills, both on and off the field.
My most sophisticated attributes include strategic vision with the ball, the ability to break lines
and help release pressure, 1v1 defending out wide, sustaining an excellent tempo, and having
the skills to play all positions well. I am good at reading and controlling the game. I love to
compete, and I love winning. Being in a losing position always makes me want to work harder.
My goal is to work deeper and stronger than classmates and team members, always striving to
do better.
I have started both sophomore and junior seasons at the varsity level; in 2021, we won the
WCAC championship for the first time in more than three decades. I primarily play outside back,
but I can also play as a defensive midfielder.
I enjoy excelling as an individual both in scholarship and sports, but I also am committed to my
team and to collaborating with peers on academics. Not only do I work well with my team, but I
also work well with other students at school—in the classroom and on projects. I am an expert
at balancing academics and athletics; I’m an honors/I.B. student and a member of the National
Honor Society. I also have held internships and leadership roles in various organizations. I am
dedicated to improving my local community and helping people in need internationally through
service.
