Personal Statement
My name is Michael Conley, and I attend Hudson High School in Hudson, Massachusetts. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 and started competing at the club level at age 9. From a very young age, I understood that it was important to not only develop ball skills, but to also understand the technical and tactical side of the game. My right foot is my naturally dominant foot, but I have always known that it is important to use both feet, so for the last five years I have worked towards strengthening my left foot. I can now easily execute passes, shots, and set pieces with either foot. Through ODP, Club and High School I have been fortunate enough to train and learn from coaches that are currently head college coaches and former professional players. They have instilled in me the constant need for improvement and work ethic required to play at the highest level. I play every minute of every game with the same intensity, no matter what the scoreboard says. Effort and creativity are attributes that I always try to exemplify for my teammates whether in training or games. I am a fierce competitor and enjoy playing against the best players possible because it challenges me to take my game to the next level.
The most important things for me in selecting a college are finding a school and a team where I can learn, contribute and participate in a high level of competition. School location and size are less important to me than finding the right fit. I look forward to the challenges and opportunities that I will encounter in my college career and I am confident they will prepare me for continued success after college.
Thank you for your time a consideration.
