Matthew McAuliffe '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Matt McAuliffe and I am a senior at Pembroke High School in Pembroke, Massachusetts.  I am a self-driven individual, with a tireless work-ethic, and a team-first mentality.  I hold myself to a high standard on and off the field, maintaining a 4.44 GPA in the classroom.  My consistent leadership, unlimited energy, athleticism, strength, and positive attitude are what differentiate me from other players.  I maintain a healthy diet and spend a lot of time on strength training and conditioning which provides me with a physical and mental advantage on the field.  My goal is to attend a great college where I can pursue a degree in business, and join a great college soccer team where we can pursue growth and success together.

I have always loved playing sports, and have been playing soccer, basketball and lacrosse for many years.  Soccer has always been my first love, and I started playing club soccer at a very early age.  I have been very fortunate to play on some very successful soccer teams, both club and high school.  My Steel United club soccer team finished at the top of the division for the last two seasons (2023 & 2022), and the Pembroke High School team was one of the top ranked teams in the state of Massachusetts (division 3) for the majority of the last three seasons (2023, 2022 & 2021).

Versatility is one of my key strengths.  I play as an attacking midfielder and defensive midfielder on my club team.  As a senior at Pembroke High School, I play as a defensive midfielder, but I started as an outside back as a sophomore and junior.  At the college level, I believe I can contribute in any of these positions as I am always willing to do whatever is best for the team.
