Personal Statement
My name is John (Kyle) Volpe. I am a 6'2 Central Midfielder from Massachusetts and I play for my high school St. Mark's in Southborough and for the U-17 MPS Bulldogs. Last summer, I was selected to the All-Tournament Team at the US Club North American Finals in Florida and was named my team's MVP of the tournament. This year in the ISL, my high school's very competitive sports league, I was selected to the All-League First Team as a Junior and have been the high scorer for my school since Freshman Year. I was a co-captain of the team my Junior Year and will be the captain again in the fall season. I am described by coaches as hardworking and dedicated and tend to lead by example. I am looking to go to a school preferably in the Northeast but I am not too strict on this decision. I am looking for a very academic school where I can strive both on and off the field. I will need help with financial aid when applying to schools. Out of all the subjects that I have taken in school, A.P. Biology has fascinated me the most and I plan to pursue this in college. If possible, I am looking to go into some form of science engineering but if a school does not have an engineering program though, I would be fine with taking Biology in the Science Department. At the moment, I have a 31 on my ACT and a 2050 as my best score on the SAT. My goal as an athlete is to play at the highest level possible. I understand the level of competition of playing time and am willing to fight and work for my position even if that means I will not play Freshman Year.
