Personal Statement

My name is Dante Mancini. As a junior of the graduating class of 2018, I play on both a varsity high school team and an elite club team. My high school team, Xaverian Brothers, is located in Westwood, MA. In the season of 2014, I started every game at outside back and won a second team all-conference award, as well as unsung hero. During the 2015 season of high school as a sophomore, I started every game as a center mid and was awarded 1st Team All-Conference. During the current 2016 high school season,  I have 5 goals and 7 assists in a total of 14 games, I am a junior captain, and start every game as a center mid. At the end of my junior high school season, I was awarded team MVP, Catholic Conference All-Star, Eastern Massachusetts Soccer Coaches Association (EMSCA) All Star team, the Massachusetts All-State team, and Senior Captain.

My club team, NEFC, or New England Football Club, is located in Marlboro, MA. This past season, of spring 2016 my team qualified for the NPL National Championship in Aurora, Colorado, as a result of having an undefeated regular season and an overall record of 24-3-2. Unfortunately, we lost in the semi-final against Manhattan SC Villa (National Rank of 2) in double overtime. We are currently ranked 1st in MA and 71 in the nation. I start every game as outside back. I am recognized as a player who is physically strong but also has the ability to make runs up the field and create chances on goal. I am one of the best players on my team that has an excellent vision of the field. I am also very knowledgeable academically.  I currently take 4 honors classes and 2 AP classes as a junior and I earned a weighted grade point average of 3.8/4.0 throughout freshman, and sophomore year.

I want to find the perfect college that I can both play soccer and earn an excellent education. I would love to stay around the East Coast or Northeast if possible. If I do communicate with a school outside of this area, I would still be very interested in traveling for an excellent academic and athletic experience.
