Personal Statement
My name is Nick Lanfear and soccer is much more than a game to me - it is my passion. The game of soccer has taught me more about life then just how to juggle or place a ball in the back of the net. The leadership skills and resilience I have learned from playing soccer are reflected in other areas of my life. I have a 3.5 GPA while taking AP classes along with courses at Oakland Community College. My strong work ethic, accountability, high level of responsibility and determination have allowed me to excel in school. Learning to lead on the field has taught me the importance to lead in school and in the community. I am part of the Trojan Leadership Council and National Honors Society for Clawson High School and I am the Assistant Coach for a U12 MYSL soccer team. I work a full-time job in the summer as a Groundskeeper while still training and conditioning for soccer. My goal is to attend a University and continue to play soccer while obtaining a degree in Business.
I am currently a Junior and play club for TSC. We play in the National League - Great Lakes Region. I play Right Outside Back, Center Back and Center Defensive Midfield depending on the opponent. I have been a starter on Varsity for Clawson High School for all three years I have played. This year, I was awarded the sole captain for High School team. We won districts and made it to the Regional Final game. I was awarded Second Team All-State as a defender along with team MVP along with All-District, All-Region, All-Conference and All-Conference Academic Team. I am also a member of the Varsity Track team and run a variety of events including 100m, 200m, 400m and 1600m.
My teams are part of my family and I am looking for the opportunity to play college soccer and be a part of a soccer family. My goal is to attend a University that aligns with my academic goals and find a soccer program that is the right fit for me and for the program.
I appreciate you taking the time to review my profile.
