Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath once said: “If you aren’t going all the way, why go at all?” I have played soccer since I was four years old and my goal has always been to play in college. Everything I’ve done to this point has been with “going all the way” in mind. Over the past several years I’ve pursued every extra training and development opportunity I could, including playing in the highest group of ODP 101, trying out for and making an elite New York Red Bulls RDS camp, accepting an invitation to play on a summer Super Y team with the Chicago Fire Soccer Club, being selected to play for the Coerver Performace Academy and earning a spot on an Academy level futsal team. Some of the qualities that will make me a great addition to any college team are that I’m a strong leader with a very positive attitude, an extremely hard worker, a true team player, highly coachable and always open to feedback to help me improve. All of these characteristics are why I was voted captain of my high school team last year.
I am looking for a college that will help me grow as an athlete, student and person but also allow me to use my leadership abilities, optimistic attitude and advanced technical skills to improve their soccer team. I plan to study either engineering or business so would prefer a school with quality programs and high job placement rates in those fields. With two years left in high school, I plan to continue to improve both in the classroom and on the field and am looking forward to starting my college career.
