Hello, my name is Nick Williamson and I would like to introduce myself and give you a little background and insight of my life. Currently I am seventeen years old and am in my senior year at Dexter High School in Michigan. I was born in Ann Arbor, MI which is 15 miles southeast of my home. My parents moved to MI in 2001 from CA for my father's job in the automotive field. My sister is 9 years older than me and she recently moved back to CA to follow her career path in the fashion industry.
I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old. My parents signed me up for a recreational team and I am lucky to have found my sport from a young age. I joined the Michigan Alliance travel soccer team when I was 11 and then moved on to the Michigan Jags Green team when I was 13 . I am still proudly playing with the Jags coached by Pete Pososki and have enjoyed every moment. My teammates and I have an exceptional bond on and off the field and I have learned that it's not just being competitive that pushes your team to a higher level, but also accountability, perseverance and loyalty.
During my spare time I am a referee through Game Officials. I am grateful to have the opportunity of being a ref because it helps me experience both sides of the field. I also have a part-time job at a private golf club in my city. I am a regular volunteer at Food Gathers, a local non-profit program that supplies food to low income families. Lastly, I am a student ambassador for the Parks and Rec Council for my city.
My aim is to attend a college that will give me a quality education for my future career, possibly in Business/Entrepreneurship or Science while playing on the soccer team. On the field, I intend to be a dynamic player and a positive influence on the team. As I grow physically and mentally throughout my college soccer career, I aspire to be an asset not only to my teammates, but also to my college. I will conduct myself with integrity and respect on and off the field, knowing that I am a direct reflection on my college, coaches and my team.
