Elijah Klee '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Elijah Klee and I am a student athlete at Traverse City West High School in Traverse City, Michigan. I am in all honors courses and achieving a 3.88 GPA. In my classes, I am known for being inquisitive and hard working. I am part of the Sci-Ma-Tech program, which is a rigorous accelerated science, mathematics and technology tract designed to allow students to engage in hands on engineering projects that are applicable to real world scenarios. I was honored this year by being inducted into the National Honor Society as a sophomore.

I am a multi-sport athlete, and I am noted for my very high fitness level and athleticism. I have been a successful road racer.  In 2019, in the Traverse City Bayshore 10K, I defended my title as age group champion and placed 16^th  out of 1500 runners. My time was 40:58 with an average mile time of 6:34. I demonstrated my stamina in the 2020 fitness test for the West High School Soccer team varsity tryouts this fall.  For the second year in a row, I placed first (out of 45 players) in the 2-mile time trial with a time of 11:10. After a five-minute break, I placed second in the one-mile time trial with a time of 5:42. I also compete in the winter as a cross-country skier for the top ski team in Michigan. As a freshman, I placed 28^th in the skate and 34^th in the pursuit at the 2020 Michigan State High School Cross Country Ski Championships.

 I am a very driven athlete who works hard and I am very determined to succeed. Though I love to compete in many types of athletics, I am passionate about soccer.  I play soccer year-round, playing center midfielder for my club team Traverse City NorthStorm. I have excellent vision of the field which allows me to anticipate where passes should go and helps me provide many goal assists for my team.  With my speed, I am known as a player who can quickly close down an opponent or exploit open space.

I am planning to graduate from a 4-year collage/university with a degree in engineering, entrepreneurship or a similar field. I am working very hard for the chance to play on, and contribute to, a colligate soccer team. My combination of both soccer and academic talent makes me an outstanding student athlete.  Besides athletics, I am an avid reader and active traveler.  I have traveled to 5 continents and attended school for a short time in Kenya. My international interests, athletic and academic talents and my experiences will make me an excellent addition to your team.
