Zaren Ahmed '26 Recruiting Profile

I am Zaren’s step father, Steve Lacy.  I was 3 time All-Ivy at Brown, and narrowly missed playing for the Olympic Team and the US National team.  I can say with conviction that Zaren is a special player.  I saw it when he was 6 and I first came into his life.  He is unmatched this far in speed and quickness - even playing at the highest level in his age group in travel soccer.  He’s been exceptionally well coached…starting with me and then through now at Liverpool.  He’s a left footed phenom, and having coached for years I can say he’s perhaps the most coachable kid I’ve had the pleasure of coaching.  I say all that as a soccer player and a coach who knows soccer players - not as a proud step dad.
