Griffin Price '24 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Griffin Price and I am a 17 year old high school senior (class of 2024) from Hopkins Minnesota. My dream has been the same since I started playing this sport when I was three; to become a professional soccer player. I have always challenged myself on and off the field and I'm one of the most competitive people I know. I have taken a lot of steps to get to the position I am in and I believe that college soccer is a step to help me achieve my dream. However, it will not be my next step after graduating high school. I will be taking a gap year to figure out what occupation I would be interested in participating at college as well as further developing my soccer abilities.

Academically, I work very hard to get good grades and I currently have a 3.452 GPA unweighted. I have taken several Honors and AP classes and would like to further my academic development in college. At the high school I am a 4 year varsity starter and 2 year varsity captain, and have also earned all conference honors the past three seasons as well as adding All State First team, All metro First team, Mr. soccer finalist, as well as being placed on the All American watch. I do not have a specific major in mind yet but I do love to travel and have been to many states in the US along with places in Mexico and Canada so my second option of an occupation would be something that includes travel or working in nature. I went to a Spanish speaking immersion elementary school and I am still in a Spanish speaking program at my high school, passing the AP test in 9th grade. While I continue to improve, my Spanish at this point is fairly fluent. I have been told by countless coaches, players, and people in general that i am a very easy to talk to person and get along with everyone.

Soccer wise, I have been routinely playing up age groups against older players the past couple of years, both at the youth level and for the past two years I have been competing at the semi-pro NPSL level. Last year I was rostered with two different teams at the pre-professional level in Minnesota, Minneapolis City SC (UPSL/USL2) and Joy Athletic (NPSL). I also have a strong futsal background and played last last winter in the NFPL, a  semi-pro futsal  league, where I was the 5th leading goal scorer in the league. Playing at this level has allowed me to become more comfortable playing against bigger/stronger players than myself, which has forced me to find ways to outplay them despite their physical advantages. My strongest abilities are my creativity, dribbling, passing and my understanding of the game. Soccer has always been my one true passion and no matter who I play for, I will give them the most hard working and committed player they have ever seen.
