Personal Statement
Hello, my name is Ezekiel Kyoore. I play forward, center midfield, and right back positions for both my high school soccer team and my club soccer team. On both my teams I am a leader. I try my best to be a positive player who picks his team mates up, even when the chips are down. One of my biggest goals as a team player is to be inspirational to my team mates. To do this, I set an example by playing hard, and by doing so I motivate and inspire my team mates and give them a good reason to play with determination and integrity. One strength I have is that I am versatile in the types of positions I can play in a soccer game. I am also very good at winning balls from my opponents. That is one reason why clubs in my area strive every year to convince me to play for them. They count on me to lead the team, particularly in difficult matches, and they always know that I will be up to my task all the time. For example, two years ago, Mankato Soccer club got me to switch from another club to play for them, because they were confident I could help them get promoted from a Classic 2 team to a Classic 1 team, and they were not disappointed. We got moved up to Classic 1 after my first summer with them. I am true team player on the soccer pitch. I was elected to play in my high school Varsity team in my Freshman year, because of my abilities in the sport. I should also add that I was in the ODP Regionals twice.
I try not to be cocky, but I also try my best to be humbly confident. Confidence is important in any profession, so this philosophy guides me in both my sports and academic performance. I am honestly not a very talkative person, but I am a great listener. If I am told to do something, I do it without hesitation, and I also know that since I started playing youth soccer in my city, coaches have always loved to have me in their team because they say I am not just a good player but also a kid who is respectful towards my coaches and my team mates.
In school, I am a strong student. I earn A and B grades in all classes (Including advanced classes and some college courses) while being a three sport athlete in soccer, basketball, and tennis. This shows that I am able to excel in multiple areas while being a strong athlete. I am planning to do a double major in Athletic Training and Psychology in college. Once I get into college, my goal will be to maintain a 3.5 minimum GPA, and I also hope to become an athletic trainer for a team, or work as a physical therapist in a hospital after graduating from college. Also, I do not rule out my interest in becoming a professional soccer player, much like one of my uncles who played professional soccer in Ghana.
As a collegiate soccer player, I hope to be able to make a significant difference for my team by putting in my maximum effort in training and in games. I hope to be a good time manager in terms of playing soccer, doing well academically, and getting involved in campus activities that are essential for the education of the full person to become a well-rounded global citizen.
