My name is Wyatt Coberly and I am a Junior at Ava High School in Ava, MO. My high school does not have a soccer program, so I currently play soccer for two states since their soccer seasons are flipped. I travel an hour both ways from my hometown during the Spring and three and a half hours both ways in the Fall for the opportunity to be on highly competitive soccer teams. I have been playing soccer since I was four years old and started traveling to play competitive club soccer at the age of nine since recreational soccer no longer challenged me. I played as a midfielder, and wing, and for the last three years have been playing center back. I play at a high level of soccer, both on my current club teams and the Missouri ODP team.
Due to having to travel, I sacrificed playing other sports at my high school, as well as declined opportunities to take Honors classes so I could maintain my GPA while playing soccer hours away from home. The obstacle of not having a high school soccer team has taught me determination to train on my own, dedication to the travel and hours spent on the road, and leadership to be confident in myself on and off the field. My goal is to play soccer at the college level and I am hoping to find a college that is a good fit both academically and athletically. I am a well rounded player who is coachable and believes that being a team player is key to having a strong team.
