Patrick Long '21 Recruiting Profile

My name is Patrick Long and I'll be graduating from Gretna High School in May, 2021. I recently completed my coursework for my junior year and am ready to move on to my final year. Although we all miss soccer tremendously, I continue to work to be a better player both on and off the field.

On the pitch,  I’ve played a number of positions for both club and high school, but I’ve mostly played as a wing, striker, and a midfielder. During my tenure at my latest club, Nebraska Fútbol Club, I was proud to win the 2019 State Cup. While at Gretna Soccer Club, a club where I had played for many years, I was proud to have been selected as part of the Nebraska State Cup Best XI in 2018. In my two seasons of playing for Gretna High School, I’ve been honored with two conference honorable mentions, one Class A honorable mention, and a nomination for the All-ITG state soccer team following a solid sophomore season.

I am proud of my achievements in the classroom as well. I was recently awarded Academic All State and carry a 3.73 GPA while taking many dual-credit and college prep level classes. I have only taken the ACT one time and scored a 23 with a writing score of 9/12. I was scheduled to take it again in April but those dates have been pushed back to June.

I am looking for a school that will provide me opportunities on the pitch as well as in the classroom. I have not settled on a major yet but I'm leaning towards something in psychology, physical therapy/rehab and possibly athletic training.
