Personal Statement

Hi. My name is Leonardo Zapata. I am 15 and I go to Bishop Gorman High School Or more widely known as BGHS. I play soccer for club and HS. My club is the LVSA 05 Silver B Team. Let me tell you some important things that make up my life and who I am. I am a hard working, diligent, and never ending player. Soccer has always been my passion since I was 3. My dream in life is to play professional soccer either in the MLS or the European league. I am so grateful to have been going to the high school that I am currently going to and all the opportunities life has given me. I am also a great student excelling on every part of my knowledge. I like to be kind and fair on and off the field with opposing players from different clubs or schools. I have participated in many hours of service throughout my middle school to now high school years. Being able to communicate with NCAA recruiters is an absolute blessing. My dream college would either be Stanford or CU Boulder. I have researched that their soccer programs are amazing there. I had been offered a spot and have  a chance to play for the pre academy for the Barcelona Academy Team in Arizona at the beginning of this year 2020 for 1 week . I declined because I wanted to focus on my high school and the opportunities back in Nevada and it was too expensive. My parents have always treated me with kindness and love and have I have learned much about being dedicated to what “I love “means I have also learn that whatever I put out into the world,  will come back To me ten fold so I choose integrity, character , discipline, love , kindness , structure & dedication in all I do.  I owe everything I have achieved in life to my family and God. In conclusion, I am grateful for the people in my life and the power of the love for soccer running through my veins.

Sincerely,

Leonardo Octavio Zapata
