Personal Statement
My name is Nicholas J. Turk. I go to Bishop Gorman Catholic High School in the diocese of Las Vegas Nevada. I work extremely hard in everything i do. As well as soccer I made the varsity cross country team as a freshman, sophomore , and junior. I have played in soccer tournaments in Spain, Sweden(2x), and England. I played for Downtown Las Vegas Soccer Club for seven years, Heat Fc for two years, and Las Vegas Sports Academy for three years. I have excellent technical skills and excellent vision on the field. My best qualities as a player include my explosive speed, ability to deliver accurate crosses and shots from advanced positions, endurance, precision short and distance passng, and my ability to head balls(30 Inch Vertical) on attacking and defensive corners. After every game I analyze myself to see where I can improve. I usually start as an outside back, but I am able to play every position on the field despite my size. I very rarely lose control of my anger and would rather take my anger out on the field than get in a fight. I am very respectful and thank the referees and parents after every game. If my teammate is going to get in a fight with another player or the referees I take control of the situation and calm everybody down. As a captain of my team I believe in setting a good example for my teammates who may look up to. Even when my team is down by three or four goals I never stop battling. I would rather be carted off the field for an injury than give my opponent the satisfaction of seeing me give up. No player in the world can match the heart I have, and that is why I know I will succeed in the sport. I dedicate all my free time to extra training which includes training with Etienne Barbara(NASl Golden Ball winner and MVP), Kevin Argue(former coach of Vardar and Downtown Las Vegas Soccer club as well as former QPR(England) player), and taking 2-3 sessions a week at Athletic Gaines/Phase 1 Sports(Where Antonio Brown, JImmy Butler,Reggie Bush, Lesean McCoy, and others train). If I did not have soccer I do not know how I would fill my time. The three most important things in my life are my family, soccer, and my education. If for some reason I am unable to pursue a profession in professional soccer I hope to become a sports agent for athletes in MLS and eventually the top five European leagues.
