Throughout the 10 years I have been playing soccer, I have learned so much from the sport. I have learned how to face adversity and overcome failure. I have had to overcome obstacles as far back as middle school, when I was cut from the team in 8th grade. I learned from this experience and used it to grow as a player and as fuel to make my high school JV team my Freshman year and then the Varsity team. I have faced even more recent obstacles when my high school team failed to make the playoffs the past year. However, this experience has only made me more committed to winning next year.
Not only have I learned these valuable skills, but I also learned aspects of my personality that I do not believe I could have learned doing anything else. Playing this sport, I have learned about my eagerness and determination to win and also about my competitiveness. I have learned to give all my effort to help the team win and to continue to fight until the end of the game to win. This attitude has also helped me in my academic life because I give all my effort to my classes and assignments. My commitment to helping the team succeed, my competitiveness, and my passion are just some of the reasons why I would make a valuable asset for your team!
