I only recently discovered my love for this game. I have been playing since I was 3 or 4 years old and never once thought to myself "I love soccer." I have always been talented and had a knack for the sport yet it never invoked many emotions in me. However, I recently reevaluated my feelings for this sport and realized just how much it means to me. Being injured for the first time about a year ago and not being able to play was an eye-opening experience for me. I hadn’t realized just how much I wanted to be on the field. The feeling of disappointment that accompanied my inability to play was brutal.
The competition and spirit of soccer has driven me to be the person I am today and the person I strive to be in the future. This is compelling me to want to experience competition at the highest levels possible. The commitment it requires, the attitude it requires, and the sacrifice it requires all motivate me to excel, and I am just now learning to love this feeling…and I want more.
