Hello, my name is Jackson Potter and I live in Elmira, New York. I attend Notre Dame High School and have been a starter on the varsity soccer team since 8th grade. I am a career 4.0 GPA student with high aspirations in college. I would like to attend a competitive D1 school while also achieving a Master's in some form of business. As an athlete, I am as competitive as they come. My will to win and perform well is a huge factor in why I play soccer but I also play to build camaraderie with my teammates, coaches, and others on the staff. Sometimes my will to win is so powerful that I will fixate on mistakes that I may have made previously and make 100 percent sure that they do not happen again. As a student, I do whatever it takes to make sure that there are not any problems with my grades. For the past three years, I have made valiant efforts with extra help in classes that I may be struggling in to try and steady the ship. Now, what makes me different from other people are the outstanding and mature conversations and interactions that I can have. Whenever people talk about Jackson Potter in my town, they always say that I am the most mature, respectable, and likable kid in the area. I was invited to the HOBY NY central conference for Youth leadership this past June. HOBY's main goal is to effect change in the community and show you how you can make change within your community. It was truly a life-changing experience and will influence me for the rest of my life. This also factors into athletics and academics. No matter how competitive or how frustrated I may get on the field or in the classroom, sportsmanship, and maturity always comes first. My goal for my college career is to be the best person and athlete that I can be while also getting better every day, and also improving myself as a person, and becoming a likable/respectable athlete.
