Ever since I was 5 years old, I knew my love and passion was devoted to this one sport ... Soccer! My earliest memory is kicking a soccer ball back and forth with my friends in the school yard. As I got older, I started playing for organized teams, and my love for the game only grew stronger. My dream of playing professionally, as well as learning many new skills and aspects of the game, feels more like a reality with every passing day. On both my teams, I bring positivity, passion, discipline, and much more. In my opinion, what makes me different from every other athlete is my work ethic towards everything that needs to be accomplished on and off the pitch. I work extremely hard to ensure that my team and I are in the best situation possible and that requires me, as the captain of my team, to make some big sacrifices in order to make sure we have a positive outcome at the end. Off the pitch, I try to research certain professional players that play a specific position on their teams in hopes of getting better and learning new tactics to help bring my team to the top in scoring goals and stopping the opposition defensively.
There is so much I love about soccer. I love the feeling of being part of a team, and the challenge of competing against other players. I love the physicality of the game, and the way it pushes me to my limits. I love going to the field with my teammates to train because it helps build chemistry and makes us better as a whole. But most of all, I love the joy of scoring a goal, or making a great tactic. Soccer has taught me so much about life. It's taught me the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and hard work. It has also taught me how to deal with disappointment, and how to come back stronger from setbacks.
In addition to soccer, I also love to go to the gym. I enjoy the challenge of lifting weights and pushing myself to my physical limits. I love the way that working out makes me feel both physically and mentally and that feeling is something I take with me onto the field every game. Being physically fit and in shape also helps me keep up with older players since I presently play on a team a year up (2006). Going to the gym has helped me to become a stronger and more disciplined person. It has also taught me the importance of setting goals and working towards them.
I am excited to continue playing soccer and going to the gym in college. I believe that these activities will help me to be successful athletically. I am also eager to learn more about sports science and nutrition, so that I can improve my performance and stay healthy.
