Joseph Melillo '22 Recruiting Profile

Ultimately I would love to play soccer professionally on some level and eventually coach.   I have spent the last 7 years as a mentor to kids with Special needs coaching Soccer and basketball as well as assisting with Special Olympics.  My goal is to pursue a career as either a Guidance Counselor or School Psychologist while also coaching at some level.  

I have maintained between a 3.6 and 3.9 GPA throughout my tenure in school. I've achieved JV and Varsity letters in  Soccer,  Skiing and Cross County.  I am on track to earn my Scout rank as "Eagle" in Troop 4 of Woodbury NY Hudson Valley Region within the 2020 year. 

What sets me apart from other candidates would be my ability to overcome any challenge put in front of me.  I have continuously demonstrated to my teachers, coaches and teammates that I will rise to the occasion and improve and achieve great results. I thrive on being challenged and thus I'm inspired to always do better.   I have also learned to become a great listener and communicator.  As a Goalkeeper, this is essential in developing chemistry with my teammates.
