I have been playing soccer since I was 7 years old. I have always liked the game but not as much as I love it now. Joining my High School JV team in 8th grade showed me just how fun the game is. In 9th grade I was the captain of the JV team which showed me that just being a good player is not always enough, you have to be able to communicate with your teammates and coaches even when it is hard if you want to be able to win. Being the captain was very beneficial for me because it taught me how to be a leader not only in the good times when you are winning but also when you are losing. At the end of my 9th grade year, I got called up to the varsity team for the end-of-the-season playoffs. In 10th grade, I made the varsity team and got to see the big difference between Varsity and JV. I was shown that you can not just be good, you have to be great at all aspects if you want to be able to make a difference in the field. Off the field I am a strong student with over a 95 GPA and hope to continue to increase that over the next 2 years. I hope that whatever college I go to allows me to excel both on and off the field, giving me an opportunity to make connections and grow as a person.
