Dear college coaches,
My name is Steiger Devil, I attend Sewanhaka High School in Elmont New York, and I am an aspiring collegiate and professional soccer player. I have been playing soccer since I was about 7, and it has always been a passion of mine. It all started when I saw Haiti (my country) play on tv, and since that moment, I’ve dreamt of playing on tv wearing the majestic kit. I currently play as a Left or Right Midfielder/Winger, or Left or Right Back for both my high school Varsity team and NY Hota Bavarians Academy. This season was my second season as a varsity starter. I came into the season with a fire and determination to have an excellent season. I played well in my role that was given to me. Everyday after practice I spent extra time after practice working on things to help me become a better player like tight space dribbling, quick cut ins, touch, and agility. All the hard work paid off, I was scoring and assisting my teammates with more ease now. I was also elected captain this year for the 2nd consecutive season. For outside of school ball, I am the starting left winger for Hota. My job is to take on players at a high rate, send in dangerous balls and link up with the fullbacks and midfielders. And of course put the ball in the back of the net. After the season the coaches thanked me for having a phenomenal work ethic, working hard in every single practice, being coachable, being fluid in terms of positional play, for my display of leadership, and for the encouragement to my teammates to not give up and hang your head up high no matter what. Some of my best qualities as a soccer player is my agility, my knowledge of the game, my fluidity in being able to play many positions, my ability to put the ball in the back of the net at a high rate, my leadership both on and off the pitch, my 1v1 abilities, and my work ethic in and out of training.
Not only am I a 100% dedicated athlete, I am also a dedicated student always working hard to keep a high grade point average throughout the school year. This year I am in 6 honors/advanced classes. I also take a 3 AP classes and a CTE program at my school. (AP Physics 1, AP United States History, and AP Language and Composition.) (CTE=A+ Computer Technician). I finished my junior year with a 4.0 GPA. I will continue with honors classes throughout my high school years as I like to challenge myself through rigorous academics. My preferred majors I like are Engineering, mechanical or electrical preferred. In addition to school, I am also a member of the Robotics Club. This year we finished 3rd in the long island competition. I was one of the lead coders for the robot we built.
This is a very exciting time in my life and I am looking forward to finding a university where I can continue to play and develop in the sport(s) that I love while getting a great education. Looking forward to hearing from you.
