Bennett Leitner '22 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coaches,

Focused, relentless, and courageous best describe my attitude and approach towards school, soccer and life in general.

My name is Bennett Leitner, a Junior at Somers High School (Somers, NY). I play on a premier club team (FC Somers Arsenal), which is highly competitive and ranked in both New York State and Region 1.  FC Somers Arsenal competes in the EDP National Conference (1st division) and  top tournaments battling against elite regional / national teams. In addition, I have been a Starter at CF/RW on my high school varsity soccer team for the last three years (as a Freshman, Sophomore, and Junior) and I’m excited to begin my college recruiting process. 

I have been playing soccer all my life and have a very strong passion for the sport. I take training, playing, recovering, and everything in between seriously in an effort to become the best version of myself. I’m determined to advance to the next level where I can be placed in a highly competitive environment; wherein I can continuously grind and improve each day.

I feel that my core player attributes make me a strong recruiting candidate for consideration. Leadership: I am a leader and a role model on and off the field who communicates well with teammates. Pace and Selflessness: My style of play is quick, energetic and controlled. I take pride in creating space for both myself and teammates with off-the-ball runs that generate quality opportunities.  Respect: I have tremendous respect for my coaches and teammates and feel comfortable expressing an opinion that may help our team. I believe deliberation and team-based solutions are most effective in leading to success.

While I’m interested in playing varsity soccer at the next level, I consider myself a student first and take academics as seriously as athletics. I’m currently undecided on a major field of study and enjoy both math and the sciences.

I’m eager for the opportunity to showcase my talent on the pitch and find a strong fit where I may continue my academic and athletic career!
