My name is Cohen Vogel and I am class of 2025 high school student from Starpoint High School, located about 20 minutes north of Buffalo, NY. My athletic goal is to play college soccer at the highest level possible. By the time I graduate from high school, I will be a 4-year starter on both the Varsity soccer and Varsity basketball teams, serving as a captain for both.
I believe my ability to play soccer at the college level is a result of many factors. First, I have always taken pride in my work ethic, and the time and effort it takes to be one of the best. I truly enjoy the process of getting better: practice, watching film, working out, etc. Second, I have been lucky enough to be coached by highly respected, experienced and caring coaches. From the time I started playing as a young kid, my club coaches have all been longtime college coaches at the D1, D3 and Junior College levels. My current club coach is the Head Men's Coach at Daemen University (D2). I also believe that being a multisport athlete has helped my overall development as both a soccer player (striker or CAM) and a basketball player (point guard).
The most important factor in my success has been my family. Both my mom (volleyball) and dad (basketball) were D3 athletes at Elmira College. In addition to playing, my dad was lucky enough to coach at the college level for a year after he was done playing. They have always supported me and stressed to me the importance of doing things the right way. My dad is my varsity basketball coach and playing for him has been challenging at times, but is a great experience to have. He has taught me what its like to be a well respected athlete, the importance of having a good attitude, the power of my body language, and how you have to work hard for the things you want because nothing will come easy.
I am looking forward to see where soccer can take me and the experiences I hope to get.
