Personal Statement
I'm a 16 year old self driven athlete, passionately playing soccer since I was 6. I'm a disciplined, well behaved and a happy student always striving to bring the best out of everyone around me on and off the field. I played with a district level club (LMFC) ever since I kicked a soccer ball and now I am branching out to more elite levels in order to prepare myself for the collegiate level. This past summer I have gone to an FC Schalke national ID camp, and the Collegiate Soccer Academy ID camp held in Boston University. I plan to continue practicing with my team during the winter (2019), and tryout for NYSC and the Westchester flames in the spring (2020). I will also continue to play at various player ID camps to gain further exposure.
As a student athlete I know that skill on the field must also transfer to the classroom. I have taken many challenging classes to the point where I do not even have a lunch period. In my current year (Junior), I am taking 3 AP courses on top of Pre-Calculus Honors and a demanding Science Research course. I must admit it is not easy to maintain a strong GPA while balancing time for honing my soccer skill. However, this student athlete lifestyle has taught me the skill of time management in order to be productive, and helped me to keep healthy.
My soccer strengths are in carrying the ball up the field without losing it, playing services into the box and in space to create goal scoring oppurtunites, field presence, defending (cutting off angles), ball control, and overall communication on the pitch. I hope to continue improving my game and to perform at a collegiate level, while learning and acheiving in the classroom.
Looking forward to the exciting future!
