Hello, my name is Jonathan Gonzalez. I am 16 years old, and I am currently in my sophomore year. I have always had a passion for soccer since a was a little boy. I grew up playing soccer for fun until I got a little older and realized that I want soccer to be a big part of my future. The first time I played in a team was when I was 7, since being with my foster parents i have been playing on a team ever since.
I see soccer as not only a way to deal with my ADHD but a way to learn who I really want to be. I have been able to learn new characteristics about myself and learn how to use them to fully benefit from them. While being on the field I consider myself a good leader and captain, I am able to control the game flow from the position I play while also doing what I can to help my team do their best and not give up.
Currently I play for my JV10 team for school as well as on a travel team outside of school called Manorville Lightning BU16 and a NAL/RL team called Long Island Slammers. My main positions for these teams are Center back, Center defensive midfielder, and Forwards.
Aside from my passion for soccer and having a strong focus on becoming better on the field, I also try my hardest to keep my grades at a minimum of 85 to 100 in school for all my classes, as of right now all my grades remain at a 88 and above.
Over time I have come to a decision that I want to play college soccer at a highly competitive level and even after my college years hope to play professional soccer.
